WD 400 (Small) WD 401 (Large)
Our two hone strops are unique because of the special rubber-like material used on the strop. This material eliminates the inconsistencies of leather and will greatly outlast leather strops. The strop surface can be renewed periodically with a little detergent and water. Each strop is bound to a wooden handle. Each strop has a round edge for honing the inside of gouges and a 45 degree edge for the inside of V tools.
Strop Abrasives
WD 402 - White Powder
Our strop abrasive is pure aluminum oxide powder without any wax binders. It comes in a one ounce jar and will go a long way. A pinch of strop abrasive on our strops and you will maintain a razor edge on your tools. We recommend this abrasive on our "Wood is Good" strops.
WD 403 - Green Bar
The green bar is made of chromium oxide powder in a wax base. It is ideal for stropping carving tools using either a leather strop or power strop or cloth buffer on a motor. The bar measures 1 1/4" X 1" X 5". The green bar is a finer abrasive than the white bar and is better for a finer edge especially on very hard steels.
WD 404 - White Bar
The white bar is made of aluminum oxide powder in a wax base. It is used for rapid stropping of carving tools using either a leather strop or power strop or cloth buffer. The bar measures 1 1/4" X 1" X 5". The white bar will put a razor edge on your tools rapidly.
